The Quickstep
This
is a joyous dance full of life and fun and it's in straightforward 4:4
time i.e. 1 2 3 4 - 1 2 3 4 - 1 2 3 4 etc. The slight problem with this
dance for newcomers is its speed. It uses around 50 beats per minute so
if you make a slight slip up you might spend the remainder of your
dance out of time and getting all flustered. Also, the speed of the
dance means that a long wedding gown will cause real problems. The
Quickstep is the first tune on our ballroom sampler.
If
you've got the time and a suitable wedding gown the quickstep is a
dance that will wow your guests but if you are short of time and your
gown is long it's best to count the quickstep out.
